Over the next two weeks, we are going to discuss Marketing Tips for Music Producers. Even if you have all the talent in the world as an audio engineer, when you first start out you are your own best advocate. You need to learn how to "get out there," build your clientele, and develop your brand. Thankfully, you're not alone! We are here to help! We have 10 Tips that every Music Producer should follow to market themselves. Let's begin! First and foremost, you need to have Goals. Without goals, how do you know if you are improving or succeeding? Goals should follow the SMART system. That includes: Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely. They have to be specific enough so you have a focus on it, measurable so you can track if you're hitting it, achievable so you aren't setting yourself up for failure, relevant to music production, and you should set a defined time that you'd like to complete this goal by. It may seem like a lot of extra work up front, but trust us, goal setting is critical. One specific goal we see often is the desire to "break it into the music industry." This is a long-term goal, but very applicable.
