After one and a half year, in April 2022, the D -wall construction of the five deep shafts in the Tuas Reclamation Plant (TWRP) was completed. These shafts will transport wastewater from the deep tunnels and pump it to the treatment units. The shafts, up to 84m deep, require one of the deepest diaphragm wall excavations to be carried out in Singapore. VSL, with its ground engineering team Intrafor, was selected for its extensive experience in delivering challenging ground engineering projects worldwide. VSL brought forth a strong, safe performance with a high production rate acknowledged by the industry practitioners, as well as meeting the technical challenges of the deep D-wall construction. A project well-delivered – albeit during the Covid-19 pandemics!
