Perspective! Above was the way this panel was when I arrived at the inspection. The first link deals with why you should hire a home inspector and questions you need answers to before hiring. Although the second point doesn't apply here for associations that were recommended as this was a US written article, everything else is good advice! I recommend to use only Canadian associations such as Ontarioachi or Cahpi. https://www.angieslist.com/articles/18-questions-ask-you-hire-home-inspector.htm The second two links deal with Realtors: Again another US written piece but much is still applicable. The only thing that is not documented here is that many realtors want you to sign off of the home inspection. This is the advice given so that they can present what they call a clean offer in the event the listing goes into a competition. How will you know if there is going to be a competition? Really you won't so you waived this right for nothing, DON'T do it! You will have no recourse. If the house is pre-inspected, ask if it was done to the CSA A770 standard, if not again don't do it! I suggest having no part of a five point or 7 point inspection. https://www.angieslist.com/articles/what-should-be-every-realtor-contract.htm https://www.angieslist.com/articles/5-warning-signs-bad-realtor.htm
