This week, we had a new customer in Downpatrick, County Down call on us to carry out electric gate repairs on their automated wooden driveway gates. Only one side of the gates would open and they could not get the car out of the driveway. They did not know how to manually open the gates, so we needed to attend to this customer ASAP. When Adrian arrived, he found that the manual release mechanism on the gates would not release. the gates had not been serviced in many years and the manual release was now completely corroded and ceased. Adrian inspected the gate system for faults and found that one of the motors had failed. This is an old automated gate, almost 20 years old. A replacement motor is required to complete the repair. In the meantime, Adrian uncoupled the gate from the automation mechanism by removing the old motor from the gate. This allowed the gate leaf to move freely. When the new gate motor is delivered from the supplier, AutoGate NI will return to install the motor and put the gate automation back into service. The customer is happy with the service because they are now able to get their car in and out of their driveway.
