Steak ain't for babies Series: Holy Spirit - Helper & Friend We spent more time examining the difference between those who are carnal, and therefore cannot hear the Spirit and those who are spiritual and can. Even Christians can be carnal to some degree and this carnality costs them dearly in terms of intimacy with God and hearing from His Holy Spirit. Another word for a carnal Christian is infant or baby. Paul, as well as the writer of Hebrews tell us that those who are babies can only eat the simple, milk of the word and that they NEED to desire so they can grow. However, meat (or solid food) BELONGS to those who are mature. These mature ones are also those Paul calls spiritual and therefore can clearly hear the voice of the Spirit of God.
