Learn how to detect a Phishing attack.
Oct 27 - Nov 3
How to detect Phishing? Examine hyperlink text or anchor text, in emails or web pages. On web pages, when hovering over suspicious anchor text, the destination URL will be revealed in the bottom-left corner; on mobile devices, the destination URL will materialise in a small pop-up window. On most email software, when you hover on the suspect anchor text or hyper link, a pop-up window displays the destination URL. Ensure that the destination URL link matches what is mentioned in the email or web page. Additionally, be extremely cautious about clicking on links that have strange characters in them or are in an abbreviated form. How to deal with a suspected phishing email? The first step is to not open a suspicious email. Immediately report the email your company IT or security team, so that the company can take necessary actions. If you suspect or know that you may have been a victim of a phishing attack, report the occurrence immediately as a delay in doing this will put your data and your organisation at risk.
