Security Vulnerability Assessment (SVA).
Nov 9 - Nov 16
What is a Security Vulnerability Assessment for a Business? The process of identifying vulnerabilities in an organisation’s software systems, applications, hardware configurations, databases and networks can be defined as a Security Vulnerability Assessment procedure. The information gathered from this process is then analysed and assessed by IT security experts to understand the dangers to security of the IT infrastructure being studied, and recommend actions towards mitigating them. Usually, the high-risk exposures are dealt with first. The entire process helps a Business to move from a ‘reactive’ state to a proactive approach, while strengthening the security architecture of the entire system. This immediately does two things; • It greatly reduces the likelihood of a hacker or cyber criminal breaking into an organisations’ IT infrastructure and, • Makes all stakeholders aware of the inherent risks and menace of cyber crimes.
