Epignosis: You've searched the scriptures... now come to know Me Scriptures: 2Peter 1:1-8; Jn. 5:35-40; Col. 2:1-5 After spending time in 2Peter 1 for a few weeks, where Peter tells us that the entire scope of the Christian life is found in progressively coming to know God the Father and the Lord Jesus. This word knowledge is epignosis and in contexts such as these the word means a knowing which is intimate and gained through experience. This week we spent some time further defining this word and seeing it as it appears in context in several passages throughout the New Testament. We used these to better understand the meaning of the word and how we are to obtain such intimate knowledge of the Father and the Lord Jesus. Blessings!
