Better understand how and when to apply each one. According to the CDC: Cleaning “removes germs, dirt, and impurities from surfaces or objects.” This usually involves a bucket of warm soapy water and enthusiastic scrubbing. The goal is to wash away germs and virus from the surface being cleaned. An added bonus is that the basic chemistry of soap breaks down Covid-19 and other virus particles, leaving them harmless. Sanitizing “lowers the number of germs on surfaces or objects to a safe level." This step follows cleaning and uses a mixture of water and a germ-killing solution such as bleach. The surface will have substantially fewer disease-causing germs and viruses. Disinfecting “uses chemicals to kill germs on surfaces or objects." An EPA listed chemical is applied by either wiping, conventional spraying, or electrostatic spray. The electrostatic spray carries a positive charge, causing it to adhere to all sides of an object. NLC Solutions cleans and sanitizes during every scheduled cleaning. We now offer Electrostatic Spray Disinfecting either as part of a regularly scheduled service or “to order.” The service is available in both residential and commercial facilities and is also effective when used in vehicles of all types and sizes.
