The owner and operator of a medical clinic in Miami, Armando Valdes, was arrested on Dec. 10 and was charged with the submission of approximately $38 million worth of fraudulent health insurance claims to United Healthcare Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Cross Blue Shield according to The US Department of Justice (DOJ). Gasiel Medical Services, Corp., in Miami–Dade County was operated by Valdes.
